In the light of the results obtained with a small energy gradient, the
experiments were re-run using a larger gradient. The chosen x_delta
value is shown in Table 6.9. Under these
conditions, positions on the leftmost column of the grid received one
energy token at each pass through the control loop, and those in the rightmost column
received 59, with a linear gradient in between. The mean number of
energy tokens per grid position across the whole grid was again 30.
